Summary

The Aikido Beginner's Pack is a complete starter bundle designed to provide new Aikido practitioners with the essential clothing, wooden training weapons and accessories needed to begin their training.

Offering excellent value in one convenient set, this Aikido beginner's pack is an ideal choice for students joining an Aikido Dojo and taking their first steps in the practice of harmony, movement, and martial discipline.

    What's Included in this pack?

Tengu Aikidogi - This tough 500g Aikidogi from Tengu has been the most popular Aikido clothing set from our range for more than 15 years.  The ideal balance between suppleness and durability, the Sashiko Ori (rice grain) cotton fabric jacket is complemented by reinforced trousers and a white belt, everything you need to hit the mat! The robust construction makes it suitable for regular mat training, while retaining enough flexibility for the movements and techniques of Aikido. Brown Stained Oak Jo - This simple brown stained Oak Jo is a budget option, made from the same high quality Shirokashi as our white oak models, but which has been stained due to an inconsistent colouration.  Perfect for solo Suburi, these weapons are suitable for contact but will who marks from these practices.

Brown Stained Oak Bokken -  These all purpose Bokken come with a fre Tsuba and Dome (hand guard and stopper) and are suitable for most Aikido schools.  At 102cm length and with a classic Bokken profile, they represent a very high quality entry level weapon at extremely good value.

Brown Stained Oak Tanto - Used in most Aikido school's practices, wooden Tanto are an essential training tool to emulate knife attacks in a safe environment.  This brown stained Oak Tanto offers an excellent value for money solution, making it especially suitable for beginners on a budget.

Tetron Weapons Bag - An essential element to keep your wooden weapons safe during transit and in storage, and a legal requirement in most countries when transporting sports weapons.  This is a tough yet simple bag with excellent features including a shoulder strap, full lining and foot reinforcement.  Available in black or blue.

Tenugui - Translated literally as "hand wipe", Tenugui are used throughout Japanese culture. In Aikido these useful thin towels are commonly held inside the Gi and used to keep sweat under control during training.

    Why Choose this Beginner's Pack?

Dispatch time: 1-2 working days (for non-customised products).

Delivery time: 1-5 working days (depending on location and delivery service type).

All shipping times are averages and may be affected by factors beyond our control. Suggested delivery times are approximate and we cannot guarantee delivery timescales.

Cross reference your height and weight to see our sizing recommendation.  If you are on the edge of a size bracket we typcially advise choosing the smaller of the two size options.

As we advertise, Gi are cut to shrink to fit and so they are 3-5% larger than fitted size after washing on arrival.

The Aikidogi would be expected, after shrinkage, to hang around the mid thigh level, the sleeves to hang around 2/3rds of the forearm, and the jacket to wrap from one hip, right over the other hip.

Before shrinkage that would tend to be slightly longer than the mid thigh, at or almost at the wrist in the sleeve, and then there would be excess fabric in the circumference of the body too.

After every training session, allow clothing, weapons, and accessories to dry thoroughly before storing them. Remove damp equipment from the weapons bag to help prevent moisture build-up, unpleasant odours, and unnecessary wear.

    Tengu Aikidogi

    -Use a mild detergent.
    -Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.
-We recommend hand wash to prevent shrinkage or machine wash
    at 30 °C maximum, low/medium spin.
-Do not wash with coloured materials.
-We also recommend washing Gi alone from other types of laundry,
as it also prevents wear and tear from buttons or zippers.
-Hang the Aikidogi to dry naturally, avoiding direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry.
-Tapping and stretching your Aikidogi when you hung dry will help with wrinkling,
and you might not need to iron it.
-Do not store the Aikidogi while damp.
