Enshin Koban Tsukabuto Shinai

Top quality Koban Tsukabuto (thick oval grip) Dobari Shinai.

The left hand thick oval shape Tsuka of this hand finished Shinai gives a tactile reference to help with perfect orientation of the Mune during use. The right hand grip is a more typical round shape as the oval profile reverts to the circular Shinai shape. The combination of this oval profile with a thick, chunky grip, is ideal for practitioners with bigger hands, and for those with average hands who prefer the softer grip encouraged by the thicker Tsuka diameter.

This style of Tsuka is closer to that of a real sword and so this Shinai is often popular with practitioners of other Japanese sword arts. Dobari Shinai have a wider Do section which draws the balance of the weapon back towards the hands creating a more maneuverable Monouchi.

Fitted with top quality Gingawa leather fittings, these size 39 Shinai are supplied fully assembled and come complete with Tsuba & Dome.
