The Tengu Single Layer Kendogi is a lightweight, easy-care jacket designed for beginners and practitioners looking for a more comfortable and traditional-style Kendogi. Offering excellent value for money, it is suitable for regular practice and all levels of training.

Made from soft cotton Sashiko Ori (rice grain stitch) fabric, this single-layer Kendogi provides a traditional appearance while remaining lighter and easier to care for than heavier or traditionally aizome dyed alternatives.

The Kendogi is finished in a deep indigo blue colour, but unlike traditional Aizome-dyed garments, the fabric is dyed using a non-indigo process designed to minimise dye leakage. This makes the garment easier to maintain and more convenient for regular training.

For a complete and affordable Kendo uniform, the Tengu Kendogi – Single Layer can be combined with the H-1 Tengu Hakama to create a practical, easy-care Keikogi and Hakama set.

Care Instructions

-Hand wash at up to 30°C for regular care.
-Use a mild detergent suitable for cotton garments.
-Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.
-Turn the garment inside out before washing if desired to help protect the outer fabric.
-Reshape the Kendogi while damp and allow it to air dry naturally.
-Avoid excessive heat or high-temperature tumble drying, as this may cause shrinkage.
