The Tengu Single Layer Kendogi is a lightweight, easy-care jacket designed for beginners and practitioners looking for a more comfortable and traditional-style Kendogi. Offering excellent value for money, it is suitable for regular practice and all levels of training.

Made from soft cotton Sashiko Ori (rice grain stitch) fabric, this single-layer Kendogi provides a traditional appearance while remaining lighter and easier to care for.

Often considered a more impractical colour due to the proliferation of indigo dyed equipment in Kendo, this white Keikogi is still easy to look after and can simply be machine washed at 30 degrees for regular care. This makes the garment easier to maintain and more convenient for regular training.

For a complete and affordable Kendo uniform, the Tengu Kendogi – Single Layer can be combined with the H-2-W Miyabi Hakama to create a practical, easy-care white Keikogi and Hakama set.

Care Instructions

-Hand/machine wash at up to 30°C for regular care.
-Use a mild detergent suitable for cotton garments.
-Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.
-Turn the garment inside out before washing if desired to help protect the outer fabric.
-Reshape the Kendogi while damp and allow it to air dry naturally.
-Avoid excessive heat or high-temperature tumble drying, as this may cause shrinkage.
